Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform evaluations and create personalized treatment strategies tailored to client requirements
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic methods including motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Educate clients on harm reduction techniques and abstinence-based treatment approaches
  • Work collaboratively with a diverse team to deliver holistic care to clients
  • Support clients in acquiring coping mechanisms and strategies to manage substance use
  • Track client development and modify treatment plans as needed
  • Maintain precise documentation of client records
  • Offer guidance and information to clients' families regarding addiction and recovery processes
  • Stay informed about the latest research and effective practices in the field
  • Fulfill continuing education requirements for license renewals

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline
  • Current licensure is essential
  • Prior experience in addiction counseling is necessary
  • Familiarity with therapeutic techniques such as CBT and motivational interviewing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) is advantageous
  • Personal recovery experience is a plus
