ROLE SUMMARY:
This position is primarily focused on branch-based sales with some external outreach, aimed at acquiring, retaining, and enhancing both consumer and business banking relationships. The role is pivotal in delivering exceptional customer service and achieving branch sales targets, thereby contributing to the overall success of the bank.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Develop new business opportunities and enhance existing banking relationships through in-person and phone sales calls to both current and prospective clients, including individual and commercial customers. Maintain records of customer interactions, sales activities, and report trends to management.
- Engage with clients to assess their financial needs, providing tailored recommendations for bank products and services. Effectively cross-sell and refer clients to other banking divisions as appropriate.
- Facilitate the opening of new accounts, promote consumer products and services, and address customer inquiries related to their accounts; may also manage account closures and conduct research as requested by customers.
- Oversee the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring a superior customer experience from the outset.
- Act as a liaison between clients and various departments within the bank, staying informed about existing and new banking products to provide informed recommendations.
- Process customer contracts for banking products and services, addressing any questions clients may have regarding their agreements.
- Assess customer needs to initiate consumer loan applications, gather necessary documentation for underwriting, and communicate approval or denial outcomes to clients, coordinating loan closings as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Minimum: Bachelor's degree in a business-related field and one year of demonstrated experience in a customer-focused role, or four years in a front-line customer service position with two years in a relationship management capacity; or a combination of education and experience. One year of sales experience is required.
Preferred: Experience in outside sales is advantageous.
SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Proficiency in typing at least 35 wpm and operating a 10-key calculator is required. Experience with word processing and spreadsheets is necessary; familiarity with databases is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, and banking service contracts. Capable of writing reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from managers, business clients, and the public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical scenarios.
REASONING SKILLS:
Ability to solve practical problems and navigate various situations with limited standardization. Ability to define problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
LICENSES and CERTIFICATIONS:
Must be eligible to obtain an NMLS License.
