Join Our Team as a Critical Care Nurse

As a Critical Care Nurse, you will play a vital role in our intensive care unit, providing critical care expertise and excellent patient care. Responsibilities:
  • Prioritize nursing care for assigned critically ill patients based on assessment data and identifies needs for intervention.
  • Demonstrate appropriate decision making, critical thinking, and clinical judgment to make nursing decisions and identify healthcare needs.
  • Evaluate and document each patient's response to medications, interventions, and procedures.
  • Assist in the formulation, coordination, and implementation of the patient's Plan of Care based on the assessment of their individual needs.
  • Monitor basic EKG, recognize rhythms, and have the ability to intervene as needed.
  • Assist the physician with procedures such as intubation, line placement, and chest tubes.
  • Ensure ventilator, monitors, and other equipment are functioning properly and will be able to troubleshoot alarms.
  • Demonstrate an ability to be flexible, organized, and function well under stressful situations.
  • Collaborate with fellow members of the critical care team.
Requirements:
  • Current Alaska nursing license in good standing.
  • Associate's Degree in nursing required, Bachelor's preferred.
  • One-year critical care experience required; Two years preferred.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified (ACLS).
