Job Title: Unit Coordinator - Observation Unit

Stamford Health is seeking a skilled Unit Coordinator to join our Observation Unit team.

Job Summary

The Unit Coordinator will provide administrative support to the Observation Unit, serving as a central contact for communication with the surgical team. This role will filter telephone calls, distribute paperwork and test results, and maintain the unit's communication systems.

Responsibilities
  • Greets individuals coming to the unit, provides directions, and responds to needs and requests of staff, physicians, and other personnel.
  • Respects and protects patient confidentiality and privacy, disclosing information only for professional purposes.
  • Prepares, compiles, and maintains patient medical records, including transcription of physicians' orders and processing of ordered tests and procedures.
  • Manages the unit's communication systems, including phones, Vocera's, and patient throughput via Tele-tracking system.
  • Responds to patient call systems, contacts nursing personnel as appropriate.
  • Participates in performance and support improvement and risk management.
  • Orders and maintains department office supplies and documentation for patient care.
Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent. Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
