Key Responsibilities

As a Trading Operations Executive for Refined Products, your responsibilities will include:
  • Overseeing the daily coordination and scheduling of refined products via various transportation methods, including vessels, barges, pipelines, and stock transfers, focusing on trading and marketing activities across the Americas and the Caribbean.
  • Regularly updating and maintaining trading data within the risk management system.
  • Timely settlement of trade-related invoices to enhance cash flow while complying with contractual obligations.
  • Collaborating with Middle Office and Accounting teams to ensure data accuracy in the risk management system.
  • Drafting and dispatching commercial contracts and confirmations in accordance with internal procedures, ensuring data integrity.
  • Assessing and documenting all transaction-related costs in the risk management system, while promptly communicating operational data that affects trading outcomes (including pricing changes, inspections, freight, demurrage, storage, blending, etc.).
  • Managing interactions with third-party storage terminals regarding inventory movements, reconciling terminal reports with internal records, and documenting monthly inventory variances.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal protocols and governmental regulations by maintaining all necessary documentation.
  • Coordinating with Credit to confirm the required security for transactions prior to product scheduling.
Role Dimensions

The jobholder will serve as the primary contact for counterparties in executing contracts related to the Total Group's domestic and international trading operations in North America, South America, and the Caribbean.

Objectives
  • Effective contract administration requires a solid understanding of the legal, financial, and operational terms governing transactions.
  • The jobholder is expected to implement measures to achieve desired trading outcomes within a framework of internal controls.
  • Autonomy in decision-making is essential, as the jobholder will bear full responsibility for operational activities.
  • In the context of customer relationships and considering financial and political implications, the jobholder will optimize logistics and commercial flows for the Group.
Work Environment
  • A fast-paced, dynamic trading environment characterized by time-sensitive and critical business activities, necessitating strong planning and organizational skills along with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to address and resolve potential conflicts between the Group and external parties (terminals, customers, suppliers, trading, and shipping).
  • The jobholder may be required to respond to demands during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
