Job Description:

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Monitor cargo arrival in advance, ensuring timely updates to FMS milestones according to company guidelines.
  • Process high-volume and complex import transactions for clients, encompassing booking, billing, classifications, data processing through Morrison Express systems, and obtaining necessary releases from consular and government agencies as required.
  • Verify shipments in the warehouse to confirm that all shipping documents align with actual shipments.
  • Obtain documentation from carrier operators, match it with pre-advice, and open files on the freight management system (FMS).
  • Collaborate closely with sales, account managers, or sales offices to provide prompt responses to customers' needs.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, carriers, and other offices/agents in a swift and thorough manner.
  • Notify customers/brokers of product arrival and associated charges; also handle invoicing procedures efficiently.
  • Generate freight transfers, accompanied by relevant documentation.
  • Process bills of lading and issue clear instructions to the team for handling each shipment.
  • Evaluate shipments containing hazardous materials to ensure compliance with applicable regulations under IATA and CFR.
  • Maintain timely communication with clients to arrange and complete delivery of shipments.
  • Issue delivery orders to carriers/truckers for timely delivery.
  • Complete all inbound moves, including ITs and permits to transfer.
  • Obtain all necessary documents and charges prior to releasing freight, providing sufficient documentation to verify carrier invoices before payment approval.
  • Investigate lost freight and shortages, following up with airlines/shipping lines and informing stations/agents involved. File preliminary notices of claim.
  • Ensure each file contains all required documentation in the correct sequence, notify parties of completed payable/receivable documents, and forward them promptly. Develop clear, concise records enabling the accounting department to accurately credit and bill A/R and A/P.
  • Meet all tracking and billing milestones set forth by company guidelines.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by the Department Manager/District Manager.
Qualifications:
  • Suitable candidate will have some college education or an AA degree from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of one year's experience in Air Import processes and procedures is mandatory.
  • The individual must possess a basic understanding of INCO terms.
  • Prior knowledge of bonded freight and cargo is beneficial.
  • The ideal candidate should demonstrate attention to detail, be deadline-oriented, dependable, persistent, possess good time management skills, and excel in documentation and scheduling/reporting.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with clients and vendors is essential.
  • The capacity to suggest and implement corrective actions in case of issues arising is desirable.
