Overview:

As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse), you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our donors while supporting the operational excellence of our plasma donation centers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess donor eligibility through comprehensive medical history interviews, informed consent management, and physical examinations.
  • Monitor and evaluate donor reactions during the donation process, adhering to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for medical emergencies.
  • Collaborate with the Center Physician and Medical Affairs to address any medical or technical concerns regarding donor safety and eligibility.
  • Facilitate vaccination programs for employees, including Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccinations.
  • Manage and document employee incidents, determining the need for further evaluation by occupational health services.
  • Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when designated, assisting in community health investigations as required.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with completion of a recognized nursing program that meets state requirements.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of practice.
  • Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
  • Compliance with state regulations for basic IV therapy.
  • Successful completion of FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialists.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a clinical or hospital environment.
