Job Summary

The Medical Office Coordinator performs a variety of administrative tasks to support the delivery of healthcare services. This includes interacting with patients and healthcare workers to provide a range of patient care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and visitors
  • Field and evaluate telephone calls and in-person encounters
  • Secure necessary information and documentation from patients
  • Review and update patient data, medical records, and registration forms
  • Assist patients with paperwork and obtain referral authorizations
  • Coordinate referrals for specialists and external disease management organizations
  • Schedule patient appointments and advise patients on routine non-medical instructions
  • Initiate reminder calls and answer non-medical questions
  • Prepare encounter forms and files medical charts
  • Request payment and perform end-of-day encounter reconciliation
  • Obtain and distribute provider schedules and maintain petty cash
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year of experience in a medical or business office preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize work
  • Computer skills and ability to function within a team environment
