ROLE OVERVIEW

The Community Outreach Manager will assist senior team members in executing community engagement and outreach initiatives for a range of projects. Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as Rifeline's liaison for proactive client management, which involves:
  • Establishing and nurturing relationships
  • Identifying and addressing challenges
  • Providing updates on project progress and milestones
  • Spotting opportunities for expanding contracts
  • Overseeing project strategy and execution across multiple initiatives, including:
  • Creating and implementing public information plans
  • Recognizing stakeholders and their concerns, viewing projects from their perspective
  • Preparing materials for open houses and stakeholder meetings, ensuring senior-level review for significant items
  • Formulating plans, objectives, timelines, and staffing strategies to meet client deadlines
  • Coordinating the efforts of other team members to achieve project goals
  • Monitoring subcontractor invoices and submissions
  • Generating progress and activity reports
  • Engaging with stakeholders to build positive relationships
  • Facilitating discussions during larger events
  • Determining suitable formats and strategies for events
  • Managing logistics and preparations
  • Creating schedules, agendas, and event outlines
  • Identifying staffing needs and conducting staff training
  • Leading onsite management during events
  • Reviewing local media coverage and sharing insights with the team
  • Overseeing the development of various materials, including:
  • Advertising copy and event communication
  • Presentations and display materials
  • Surveys and informational brochures
  • Ensuring materials align with strategic messaging
  • Establishing evaluation mechanisms for engagement initiatives
  • Timely submission and approval of time, expenses, and invoices in the project management system
  • Representing Rifeline at external events for marketing purposes
  • Performing additional duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, or a related field, along with five to ten years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in project management, ideally in a communications consulting role or a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on accuracy and detail.
  • Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Capability to simplify complex information for public understanding.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

Required:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in writing and editing
  • Flexibility to work outside standard hours when necessary
  • Professional maturity and the ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment

Preferred:

  • Event planning and staffing experience
  • Basic graphic design skills
  • Training in mediation or facilitation
  • Experience handling controversial topics
  • Familiarity with social media in a professional context
  • Proficiency in Spanish
  • Experience with outreach and community engagement initiatives
  • Knowledge of survey tools and email platforms
