Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States Digantara Full time

About Digantara

Digantara is a pioneering Space Surveillance and Intelligence company dedicated to ensuring orbital safety and sustainability. Leveraging expertise in space-based detection, tracking, identification, and monitoring, we provide comprehensive domain awareness across regimes, empowering end-users with actionable intelligence on a single platform. Our sophisticated integration of hardware and software capabilities aligns with the key principles of situational awareness: perception (data collection), comprehension (data processing), and prediction (analytics). This holistic approach enables us to monitor all Resident Space Objects (RSOs) in orbit, fostering comprehensive domain awareness.

We are seeking an accomplished Astrodynamics Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in developing and enhancing systems to solve complex Space Domain Awareness challenges, particularly detecting, identifying, tracking, and maintaining custody of space objects. Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and testing mathematical-intensive algorithms for SDA applications, implementing and optimizing algorithms for associating sensor data with known orbits, performing initial and precise orbit determination of space objects using observations from ground-based sensors, and refining state solutions for objects post-maneuver based on observation data from sensors.

The ideal candidate has experience in performing observation association and orbit determination, particularly using data from neuromorphic sensors. Additional qualifications include:

  • Bachelors, Masters or Ph.D. in Astrodynamics, Aerospace, Mathematics, Physics, or a relevant discipline.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in Space Surveillance & Tracking, Space Domain Awareness, or related areas.
  • Significant aptitude with computational astrodynamics/orbital mechanics, numerical methods, and uncertainty quantifications.
