Orbital Mechanics Specialist

About the Ideal Candidate
We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Astrodynamics Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate should possess a solid understanding of computational astrodynamics, numerical methods, and uncertainty quantifications, with experience in performing observation association and orbit determination, particularly using data from neuromorphic sensors. A strong educational background in a relevant field, such as Astrodynamics, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics, is essential, along with significant industry experience in Space Surveillance and Tracking.
The successful candidate should also be proficient in programming languages like Python, C/C++, and MATLAB, familiar with SDA tools, and possess hands-on experience with Linux-based systems and version control using Git. Knowledge of software packages/libraries/tools such as GMAT, AGI STK/ODTK, FreeFlyer, Orekit, etc., would be beneficial. Additionally, excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational skills, are necessary for success in this role.
In terms of compensation, the estimated salary for this position is around $100,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience and location. If you're passionate about advancing Space Surveillance and Intelligence, we encourage you to apply.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelors, Masters, or Ph.D. in Astrodynamics, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a relevant discipline.
- 3+ years of professional experience in Space Surveillance & Tracking, Space Domain Awareness, or related areas.
- Significant aptitude with computational astrodynamics/orbital mechanics, numerical methods, and uncertainty quantifications.
- Proficiency in programming languages like Python, C/C++, and MATLAB.
- Familiarity with SDA tools.
- Hands-on experience with Linux-based systems and version control using Git.
