Job Title: Reimbursement Specialist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Reimbursement Specialist to join our team at Christus Health. As a Reimbursement Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of patient payments.
Responsibilities:
* Receive and record payments on patient accounts
* Process accounts receivable checks and other mail according to established procedures
* Identify and apply payments to the correct hospital accounts
* Prepare daily cash receipts journal and balance all cash on hand
* Investigate and resolve any out-of-balance problems
* Research and resolve unapplied cash accounts
* Document all activity related to payor recoups or take backs
* Process electronic payments, lockbox, and over-the-counter checks
* Post payroll deductions and process refunds for private patients
Requirements:
* High School diploma or equivalent required
* C-Heartsaver certification preferred
Work Environment:
* This role will be based in a hospital setting
* The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills
