Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Behavior Intervention Specialist to join our team at The Family Support Center. Key Responsibilities
  • Behavioral Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify underlying triggers, functions, and patterns of behavior, utilizing a variety of assessment tools and methods.
  • Behavior Intervention Planning: Develop individualized behavior intervention plans based on assessment findings and evidence-based practices, collaborating with service recipients, families, caregivers, and other stakeholders.
  • Implementation of Strategies: Implement behavior intervention strategies and techniques in residences, providing guidance and support to service recipients, families, caregivers, and staff.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Regularly monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behavior intervention plans, collecting data, tracking progress, and making adjustments as needed.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation and records of service recipients' assessments, interventions, progress, and outcomes, preparing detailed reports and summaries for relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaboration and Consultation: Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including psychologists, social workers, educators, healthcare professionals, and other service providers, participating in case conferences, team meetings, and treatment planning sessions.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with research, best practices, and emerging trends in behavior analysis and intervention, pursuing continuing education opportunities, maintaining relevant certifications, and engaging in professional development activities.
Requirements
  • A Master's degree in a clinical or treatment field of psychology, social work, school psychology, applied psychology, or a related human services field; or a Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study and at least 3 years' experience.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain any NJ DDD-approved specialized training.
  • Experience in functional assessment techniques and behavior support plan development preferred.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with behavioral challenges, developmental disabilities, or mental health issues.
  • Strong knowledge of behavior analysis principles, assessment tools, and intervention strategies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic attitude towards clients and their families.
Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $60-62K, with a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
