Senior Care Professional - MDS Director

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Senior Care Professional to join our team as an MDS Director. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for directing the overall supervision, coordination, maintenance, and timely completion of the MDS, care plans, and medical records for residents.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate, conduct, and complete the MDS, resident care plans, and conferences on the computerized system.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of entire medical record.
  • Monitor that MDSs are completed within HCFA and Medicare guidelines.
  • Ensure MDS electronic submission occurs per State regulations.
  • Participate in family/resident care plan conferences.
  • Direct MDS department staff.
  • Ensure effective communication with other shifts and departments as it relates to medical record documentation.
  • Educate nursing staff on documentation requirements for reimbursement.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, triple check, QA, and PPS.
Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of experience in skilled nursing MDS.
  • RN currently licensed by State of Florida.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • In-depth experience and knowledge working with MDS computer software required.
  • Experience with the MDS transmittal process and understanding of regulations impacting the MDS required.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
