Job Summary

Mid Michigan College is seeking a qualified Adjunct Psychology Instructor to teach psychology courses in an online, face-to-face, and/or dual enrollment environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for instruction, student assessment, and evaluation of a diverse student population.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Instruction: Teach assigned psychology courses, develop and update syllabi, and participate in the department's assessment of student learning outcomes.
  • Student Assessment and Evaluation: Observe and assess student-learning competencies, provide timely feedback to students, and maintain and report appropriate classroom records.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with other departmental faculty on projects aimed at assessing and improving student learning, hold office hours for assisting students, and participate in adjunct faculty development.
  • Departmental and College-Wide Responsibilities: Attend, facilitate, and/or lead departmental meetings and in-service programs, adhere to departmental objectives, policies, procedures, and standards, and support and serve as a role model for our mission, vision, and student service initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of course content and objectives for psychology course offerings, ability to develop and effectively deliver course content/objectives, and knowledge of computer and educational technology.
  • Education and Experience: Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work, or Master's degree in another discipline with 18 graduate credits in Psychology or Counseling, and two years of teaching experience preferred.
Working Environment
  • The job responsibilities of this position are performed in a classroom environment which requires a professional image and demeanor, on-time attendance and reliability.
  • There may be travel to other college locations for meetings, and job duties may be performed in an independent or a team atmosphere.
