Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at Seminole Electric. As a key member of our Energy Management Systems (EMS) team, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our EMS systems, ensuring reliable operation and compliance with NERC standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement EMS systems, including SCADA, ICCP, and real-time calculations
  • Configure and manage EMS databases, displays, alarms, and other parameters
  • Evaluate and resolve complex control system problems, including hardware, software, and network issues
  • Develop and implement code to streamline decision-making in the control room
  • Collaborate with operators and engineers to ensure grid reliability
  • Perform point-to-point validation of field inputs through the SCADA database
  • Build and update databases for SCADA/EMS applications
  • Coordinate and oversee work performed by contractors on major system projects
  • Verify field telemetry, real-time values, and alarms are accurate and configured correctly
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures to ensure system integrity and compliance with NERC CIP standards
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related area
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in an EMS environment
  • Florida Registration as a Professional Engineer is desired but not required
