Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Inmate Records Clerk to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate records for the facility, exercising discretion and confidentiality in their work, and performing various administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Entry and Maintenance: Perform data entry and maintenance of computer files, ensuring accuracy and completeness of inmate records.
  • Document Collection and Review: Collect and review all pertinent documents associated with the legal transfer of inmates, maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
  • Inmate File Maintenance: Maintain the inmate record for each new inmate that arrives at the facility, updating files as required.
  • Report Development and Submission: Develop and submit required reports relative to the facility inmate file system, as well as other reports as required.
  • Audit and Release Preparation: Audit the inmate file pursuant to facility policy and prepare inmate files for the release of inmates.
  • Facility Security: Assist in maintaining facility security, especially in areas of responsibility, and promptly report any violations or security hazards to appropriate supervisory staff.
  • Adherence to Company Policies: Adhere to company policies, procedures, and specific facility regulations, including posted special orders and instructions.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience in office procedures and related clerical duties.
  • Communication Skills: Good oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact in a professional manner in both individual and group settings.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
