The Grass Pad is seeking enthusiastic Part-Time and Day-Time Cashiers for our Barry Road location.

At the Grass Pad, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional customer service. As a Cashier, you will be the first and last point of contact for our customers, ensuring they feel welcomed and valued. Our focus is on assisting customers in finding the right products for their gardening and lawn care needs. While you may not have all the answers, knowing where to direct inquiries is essential. We cater to a diverse clientele, from seasoned professionals to novice gardeners.

Preferred Skills: A creative touch for merchandising products is a plus.

As a Cashier, your daily responsibilities may include:
  • Welcoming customers as they enter and guiding them to the appropriate staff.
  • Answering phone calls professionally and directing them to the right departments.
  • Communicating with customer service staff via radio to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Processing cash, check, and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Handling transactions for commercial clients, applying the correct tax codes and charge accounts.
  • Assisting in the design and merchandising of the sales floor, including setting up promotional displays and creating signage.
  • Restocking shelves and maintaining a clean and organized product display.
  • Counting cash drawers at the start and end of each shift.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
  • Engaging customers in conversation to personalize their shopping experience.
  • Understanding key products and effectively communicating their benefits to customers.
  • Assisting with clerical tasks such as stocking, pricing, and maintaining store cleanliness.
  • Utilizing a computer-based point of sale system and other office equipment.
