  • Utilize suggestive selling techniques to enhance the average transaction value when appropriate.
  • Direct any unusual customer requests to the supervisor for proper resolution, ensuring no reasonable request is declined.
  • Handle all forms of payment, including cash and credit cards, with precision.
Additional Information:

Consistent attendance in accordance with established standards is crucial for success in this position. Employees with inconsistent attendance may face disciplinary measures, including potential termination.

Due to the nature of the hospitality sector, employees may need to work flexible schedules to meet the restaurant's operational needs. Attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is mandatory.

All employees must adhere to the rules and regulations governing the safe and effective operation of the restaurant. Violations of these rules may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.

SUPPORTING FUNCTIONS

In addition to the primary responsibilities, this position may require performing a combination of the following supporting tasks, with the time allocated to each determined by management based on the restaurant's specific needs:
  • Complete additional duties and manage projects as assigned by the Manager.
  • Retrieve and replenish the cash drawer daily; ensure it balances accurately.
  • Prepare daily reporting forms, including name, date, and shift information.
  • Stock the cashier station with necessary supplies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the entire work area.
  • Be well-acquainted with all menu items and beverage offerings.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Proficient reading and writing skills to facilitate effective communication.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Basic computational skills are necessary.
  • Fundamental computer skills are required.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws related to equal employment opportunity, civil rights, occupational safety and health, wage and hour issues, and labor relations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education:

A high school diploma or equivalent (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.

Experience:

1-2 years of cashier experience in a restaurant or similar fast-paced environment is required.
