The Aircraft Exterior Specialist is responsible for preparing aircraft and component parts through surface preparation tasks before the application of primer and topcoat. Responsibilities include:

  • Installing sealant and erosion tape
  • Applying primer and topcoat
  • Arranging aircraft according to customer specifications
  • Inspecting, touching up, and polishing painted surfaces for a flawless finish
  • Documenting all work performed in accordance with relevant manuals and regulations

Additional duties include:

  • Adhering to Bombardier's General Work Requirements
  • Complying with environmental health and safety policies
  • Participating in 5-S activities
  • Performing all tasks safely and efficiently

Essential Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • A minimum of one (1) year of painting experience in aviation, automotive, or marine sectors
  • Successful completion of a Pulmonary Function evaluation for respirator certification
  • Formal vocational training or equivalent experience
  • Customer service experience in an aviation context
  • Basic computer skills
  • Familiarity with maintenance manuals and IPCs
  • Understanding of regulations regarding hazardous materials transportation
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats
  • Capability to interpret mechanical engineering drawings
