Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Aircraft Painter to join our team at Ascent Aviation Services. As an Aircraft Painter, you will be responsible for performing functions assigned in the painting and stripping processes of aircraft and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and apply technical data to perform aircraft painting functions, adhering to maintenance manuals, FAA regulations, and company policies.
  • Clean, sand, and apply chemical solutions to prepare and condition surfaces prior to painting.
  • Mix and thin paint or other coatings to specified color and consistency.
  • Mask and cover surfaces not to be painted.
  • Spray specified amounts of primer, protective, decorative, or finish coatings onto prepared surfaces.
  • Perform maintenance work, including repair and maintenance of company equipment and shop housecleaning.
  • Strip, sand, mask, and remove insignias, symbols, designs, or other markings on aircraft according to blueprints or specifications.
  • Regulate controls on equipment to cure and dry paint or other coatings.
  • Set up portable ventilators, exhaust units, ladders, and scaffolding prior to painting.
  • Ensure proper documentation is made on training records.
  • Operate lifting and moving devices to move materials and equipment.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • One to five years of painting experience required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to work with or without supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and understand the English language.
Working Conditions

This position requires standing for extended periods, frequent walking, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching above shoulder level, and crouching. Occasional kneeling, balancing, lifting, and carrying weight up to 50 pounds are also required. The employee must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with high intensity noise levels and extreme changes in temperature.
