Job Title: Recreation Therapist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Recreation Therapist to join our team at Goldbelt Frontier. As a Recreation Therapist, you will be responsible for planning and implementing comprehensive recreation programs for individuals with physical disabilities, PTSD, and TBI. Your expertise will help our clients achieve their physical and mental rehabilitation goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized recreation programs based on assessment results and client needs.
  • Conduct site visits to review facilities, equipment, and support for events.
  • Coordinate with medical staff, patients, and family members to ensure proper use of equipment and supplies.
  • Provide recreation therapy to patients, including adaptive sports, arts and crafts, and other activities.
  • Track participation, progress, and outcomes of recreation programs.
  • Collaborate with other organizations, including the Department of Veterans Affairs and non-profit organizations.

Requirements:

  • Certification as a Recreational Therapist from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC).
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • 3 years or more experience in sport and recreation management, recreation and leisure program planning, and/or military adaptive sport management.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience within the preceding 3 years in activities or programs for individuals and groups that require application of knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices of recreational therapist and involve the use of therapeutic approaches to maintain the physical and/or mental health or to achieve the physical and/or mental rehabilitation of persons.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with individuals with physical disabilities, PTSD, and TBI.
