Job Overview:

We are seeking a per diem (on-call) Recreational Therapist to join our Recreation Therapy and Rehabilitation team. This position is non-exempt and benefits eligible, with a pay range of $24.56/hour - $30.70/hour, determined by years of experience and departmental equity.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual therapeutic recreation services and group recreation programs for children and adolescents hospitalized for orthopedic surgical intervention or long-term rehabilitation programs.
  • Supervise student interns and volunteers, and orient new students and volunteers to the department, including assignment of duties.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) required.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS for HCP) certification by or recognized by the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • Valid Driver License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum one (1) year in an acute care setting, preferably in a pediatric orthopedic hospital.
  • Experience supervising students and volunteers preferred.
  • Bilingual speaking is a plus.
