Job Summary:

As a key member of the Kettering Health Network team, the Athletic Trainer will provide high-quality care to individuals with athletic injuries, trauma, and disease processes. This includes developing injury prevention programs for athletes in community and clinic settings, as well as participating in the rehabilitation process through various treatment procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Manager of Sports Medicine, Coordinator of Athletic Training Services, or Athletic Trainer Team Lead to provide care to patients.
  • Develop and implement injury prevention programs for athletes in community and clinic settings.
  • Participate in the rehabilitation process by performing a wide range of treatment procedures consistent with athletic injury care.
  • Keep referring physicians updated on patient progress and provide supporting documentation.
  • Interact with patients, coworkers, and customers throughout KHN, and work in other areas of the sports medicine department.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science/Art degree.
  • Current license from the Ohio Occupational Therapy/Physical Therapy and Athletic Trainers Board.
  • Current certification by the Athletic Trainers Board of Certification.
  • Current certification at healthcare provider level CPR.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Remains current and increases knowledge in all aspects of Athletic Training.
  • Knowledge and ability to use equipment.
  • Possesses characteristics of dependability, versatility, and teamwork.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to change.
  • Ability to follow procedures and adhere to details.
  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with other personnel.
  • Must have 1 (one) year of professional experience.
  • Must meet requirements as outlined in the Clinical Ladder section.
