Job Title: Public Safety Officer

Join the Dallas Independent School District team as a Public Safety Officer, responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prevent and detect criminal activity and safety hazards on campus
  • Enforce district regulations, including traffic, parking, and student code of conduct
  • Provide assistance to the school community, including restraining and escorting individuals as needed
  • Patrol campus areas, interacting with students and staff to ensure a safe environment
  • Write clear and concise reports of incidents and activities
  • Resolve conflicts and confrontations between individuals on campus
  • Report incidents and activity to supervisors immediately
  • Adhere to district policies and procedures
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Valid Texas driver's license required
  • Willing to undergo background check and drug screening
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and de-escalate conflict situations
  • Knowledge of security equipment, policies, and procedures
  • Competency to interact with diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and interface with students, parents, and district personnel
  • Organizational, prioritization, communication, and interpersonal skills required
  • Computer literacy and willingness to attend training sessions
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred
