Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join the Capital Markets Reconciliation team. This position is an oversight and support role for reconciliation activities, supporting fixed Income and equity trading as well as operational support for Foreign Exchange, Securities, and Accounting Operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Accounting Expertise: Provide consultation to more experienced leadership for financial accounting related matters.
  • Reconciliation and Reporting: Perform complex activities associated with maintaining integrity with books and records, as well as general ledger and stock record accounts that impact financial statements and regulatory reports.
  • Data Analysis: Gather and review financial data for financial and regulatory reports.
  • Process Improvement: Prepare and review account reconciliations and operational processes for exception remediation, process improvement or enhanced controls.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze projects relating to financial accounting procedures, methods or systems.
  • Financial Control: Perform ongoing financial control functions in accordance with internal controls policies.
  • Training and Development: Provide functional advice and training to individuals.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Provide support for compliance and risk management requirements.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate and consult with stakeholders throughout the enterprise.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 4 + years of Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Financial Reporting, Operations, Accounting Reporting or Risk Reporting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Reconciliation Experience: 4+ years reconciliation and exception remediation experience, particularly with automated reconciliation tools for both general ledger and stock record for fixed income and equity products.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with Broadridge Suite of products (impact, BPS GPTM) and settlement clearing organizations (DTC, GSCC, NASD, FICC) in operations or reconciliation capacity.
  • Product Knowledge: Fixed income and equity product and associated accounting, settlement and corporate action knowledge.
  • Initiative and Problem-Solving: Ability to take initiative, identify process improvement opportunities and implement change.
  • Professional Licenses: Series 7 license.
