Controller Job Description

Guarantee Electrical Company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to lead our financial operations and reporting activities across all regions and business units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of financial transactions and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify trends and provide insights to senior management.
  • Review and analyze cash position risk issues.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Supervise and review the work of accounting staff, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions and reporting.
  • Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  • Monitor compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Partner with senior management to provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic initiatives and business decisions.

Requirements:

  • Construction accounting experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting with CPA or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with Viewpoint Vista a plus.
  • Proven experience in progressively responsible accounting roles, with at least 4 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Proven ability to guide, coach, develop, and motivate a team.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
