Operations Manager Job Description

Hudson Group is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team at the Des Moines International Airport. As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the General Manager in executing the day-to-day activities in support of the strategic planning initiatives to ensure a productive and profitable operation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the General Manager in maximizing sales and profits by meeting and exceeding sales budgets while minimizing shrink.
  • Recruit and develop quality staff at all levels, providing input to location succession planning.
  • Provide leadership, effective management, and training for staff, ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Ensure full adherence to all company policies and procedures, implementing and enforcing controls that protect the company's assets from internal and external shrink.
  • Perform daily/weekly operational audits, ensuring overall floor coaching and supervision is delivered consistently.
  • Complete all administrative work as assigned by the General Manager, including scheduling and back-office administration.
Requirements:
  • Leadership qualities and demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Excellent time-management skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with diverse personalities.
  • Ability to multi-task, lift up to 40 lbs, and stand and walk throughout the shift.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; Associate degree or above preferred.
  • Two years of previous retail management experience, with multi-store management experience required for multi-store locations.
