Job Opportunity at CIBA Insurance Services

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ColdFusion developer to join our Application Development team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web applications using Adobe ColdFusion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain web applications using ColdFusion, including coding, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into technical specifications and design documents
  • Integrate ColdFusion applications with databases (e.g., SQL Server) to store and retrieve data efficiently
  • Develop user interfaces and user experiences (UI/UX) that are intuitive, responsive, and user-friendly
  • Identify and address performance bottlenecks, optimize code, and implement caching mechanisms to improve application performance
  • Implement security best practices to protect against vulnerabilities such as SQL injection, cross-site scripting (XSS), and cross-site request forgery (CSRF)
  • Utilize version control systems (e.g., Git) to manage source code and collaborate with other developers effectively
  • Create technical documentation, including design documents, code comments, and deployment guides, to facilitate maintenance and knowledge transfer
  • Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and user acceptance tests to ensure the quality and reliability of applications
  • Provide ongoing maintenance and support for existing ColdFusion applications and SQL Stored Procedures, including troubleshooting issues, applying patches, and implementing enhancements
Requirements:
  • High-level proficiency in Adobe ColdFusion, including CFML (ColdFusion Markup Language), CFScript, and ColdFusion Administrator
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL, including database design, optimization, and querying
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to writing clean, well-organized, and maintainable code
  • Knowledge of the insurance domain is a plus
Compensation:
  • $45-$70 per hour DOE
