Role Responsibilities: As a registered dietitian, you will employ the nutrition care process to:

  • Screen, assess, and diagnose patients' nutritional needs.
  • Implement nutrition interventions and monitor patient progress.
  • Adhere to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Standards of Practice.
  • Engage in outstanding customer service while fostering respectful relationships.

Key Contributions:

  • Assessment: Conduct thorough nutrition-focused physical assessments, gather data through interviews, and evaluate anthropometric status.
  • Diagnosis: Analyze assessment data to identify nutrition-related risks and problems.
  • Intervention: Provide tailored nutrition recommendations and referrals as necessary.
  • Education and Counseling: Deliver culturally sensitive counseling and education to patients requiring nutritional management.
  • Monitoring: Offer follow-up to track progress and adjust nutrition care plans accordingly.
  • Leadership: Mentor dietetic interns and new staff, staying updated on research and best practices.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition or a related field with 8 years of clinical experience.
  • OR a Graduate degree in nutrition or a related field with 6 years of clinical experience.
  • OR a Post-Graduate degree in nutrition or a related field with 4 years of clinical experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in nutrition or a related field.
  • Active registered dietitian status with the Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  • Current licensure with the Florida Department of Health.
  • Board Certified specialist in relevant practice area through CDR or nutrition support through the National Board of Nutrition Support.
