Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee shift staffing, conduct performance evaluations, and provide training and development for team members.
  • Possess a foundational understanding of methodologies such as lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, ISO, HACCP, 5S, and FSCC.
  • Ensure adherence to the Food Safety Policy and GMP Program, assessing potential food security risks and implementing preventive measures while conducting regular audits related to the manufacturing, handling, and storage of food ingredients and finished products.
  • Work collaboratively with the Batching, Maintenance, Inventory, Transportation, and Planning departments to meet production schedules.
  • Guarantee that all team members receive training and comply with company policies, regulatory standards, GMPs, HACCP, and FSSC requirements.
  • Encourage team participation and ownership in enhancing factory KPIs through effective teamwork.
  • Guide Line leads in coaching team members, making employment decisions, and resolving conflicts.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and assess the performance of team members, partnering with Human Resources for recruitment, corrective actions, and terminations.
  • Collaborate with departmental leadership to plan preventive maintenance for production machinery.
  • Continuously evaluate line and team performance, adapting processes to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Partner with the Quality Department to address and resolve issues related to Non-Conforming Finished Goods and Non-Conforming Raw Materials.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by engaging with the safety team, aiming for a TRIR target of 2.5.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a production supervisory role.
  • Familiarity with machine operations, conveyor systems, 5S, lean manufacturing, and the 5 Whys methodology.
  • Strong mathematical skills and the ability to analyze production activities to meet goals.
  • Proficient problem solver, capable of initiating and implementing solutions to daily operational challenges.
  • A collaborative team player who works effectively with other management to ensure workflow efficiency.
  • Ability to train and mentor new employees or those operating new machinery.
  • Commitment to enforcing GMPs, PPEs, and other safety and efficiency protocols on the production floor.
  • Forklift operation experience is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, TABC, NetSuite, and Google Office Suite is a plus.
  • Spanish language skills are beneficial but not mandatory.
