About the Job

The City of Benicia is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting life and property, and preventing crime in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect crime
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide assistance to the public
  • Investigate crimes and gather evidence
  • Make arrests and serve warrants
  • Provide information and assistance to the public
  • Write reports and maintain records
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduation from a recognized police academy
  • Experience as a sworn law enforcement officer in California
  • Valid California driver's license
  • Ability to pass a background investigation and polygraph examination
Desirable Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with diverse populations
  • Knowledge of modern police methods and procedures
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions under pressure
