Police Officer

The City of Benicia, CA is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Police Officer to join our team. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, responding to emergencies, and providing excellent customer service to the community.

• Maintain law and order, respond to emergencies, and provide excellent customer service to the community.
• Investigate unusual or suspicious conditions, direct traffic, and investigate traffic accidents.
• Administer first aid, give assistance to the injured, and make arrests as necessary.
• Search for stolen property and lost persons, and issue citations to traffic violators.
• Write reports of daily activities and action taken, and analyze facts, clues, and evidence to determine law violators and their whereabouts.
• Operate radio and other communication equipment, and carry and use a firearm and other appropriate defensive and offensive weaponry.
• Protect the life, property, public order, and constitutional rights of all citizens.

• Equivalent to graduation from high school.
• Enrollment in, or graduation from, a recognized police academy.
• Successful completion of a P.O.S.T. Basic Academy is highly desirable.
• Must possess and maintain a valid and appropriate driver's license as issued by the State of California Department of Motor Vehicles.
• Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time and have the ability to meet the standards of stature, endurance, agility, and general physical requirements as outlined in the P.O.S.T. Medical Screening Manual.

The Police Officer will work in a fast-paced environment, responding to emergency situations and providing excellent customer service to the community. The Police Officer will be required to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and may be required to work overtime as necessary.
