Solar & BESS Technician II Job Description

RWE Clean Energy, LLC is seeking a skilled Solar & BESS Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our operations and maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of our solar and energy storage facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and maintain the availability of solar and energy storage systems to ensure maximum generation and efficiency.
  • Perform daily scheduling and prioritization of work tasks to maximize generation and ensure proactive work is completed.
  • Test, maintain, and troubleshoot solar PV and battery storage electrical equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Ensure all assigned maintenance tasks are performed safely and in accordance with established site operating procedures.
  • Collect and analyze data to prepare reports and meet reporting requirements.
  • Perform balance of plant and switchyard work as required, and maintain BESS, trackers, inverters, and other PV electrical equipment.
  • Monitor and respond to emergencies or situations requiring immediate troubleshooting and corrective actions.
  • Interface with 3rd party contractors and ensure site access, security, and inspections are performed in accordance with site protocols.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 4 years of work experience in operations and maintenance of power generation, transmission, and distribution.
  • Preference given to candidates with renewable energy experience, preferably solar.
  • Skilled in power plant operations, electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance, substations maintenance, and power plant safety protocols.
  • Knowledge of environmental and safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to travel to and from job sites as assigned, and to push/pull/lift tools and equipment weighing up to and over 50 lbs.
