Solar & BESS Technician II Job Description

RWE Clean Energy, LLC is seeking a skilled Solar & BESS Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our operations and maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of our solar and energy storage systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and maintain the availability of our solar and energy storage farms, ensuring mechanical and electrical maintenance is performed as needed to meet safety and operating targets.
  • Execute daily scheduling philosophy, prioritizing work based on a list provided by planning to maximize generation and ensure proactive work is completed.
  • Test, maintain, and troubleshoot solar PV and battery storage electrical equipment.
  • Ensure all assigned maintenance tasks are performed safely and in accordance with site operating procedures.
  • Proactively identify improvement opportunities in job-appropriate processes and procedures.
  • Collect and analyze data, preparing reports to meet reporting requirements.
  • Perform balance of plant and switchyard work as required.
  • Assist with BOP activities as needed.
  • Interface with 3rd party contractors working at our facilities.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree in engineering or related science from an accredited US school preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of work experience in operations and maintenance of power generation, transmission, and distribution.
  • Must be skilled in at least one of the following: power plant operations, electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance, substations maintenance, power plant safety protocols.
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
  • Ability to walk, climb, and stand extensively during the work day.
  • Knowledge of and experience with the use of hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of environmental and safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to and from job sites as assigned.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to push/pull/lift tools and equipment weighing up to and over 50 lbs.
  • Routine operation of a computer/tablet and other office productivity machineries.
  • Frequent oral and written communications.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Complete all required training in a satisfactory manner and timeframe.
  • First aid/CPR/AED.
  • OSHA Certified.
