Job Summary

At Urology America, MSO, we are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at the Austin Center for Radiation Oncology. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the advancement of radiation therapy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms and equipment for patient use.
  • Position patients and adjust linear accelerators to concentrate radiation exposure on tumor cells, following treatment plans developed in conjunction with radiation oncologists.
  • Deliver prescribed planned courses of radiation therapy, monitoring patients' physical conditions during treatment and documenting all pertinent information in medical records.
  • Perform daily linear accelerator warm-up procedures, checking photon and electron beams for consistency and physics components for accuracy of beam alignment.
  • Follow radiation safety protocols and perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current licensure as required by the Texas state board, with eligibility for certification in radiation therapy by the American Registry of Radiology Technology.
  • Maintain ARRT certification in radiation therapy with a minimum of 24 hours of continuing education.
  • Successful completion of an associate's or bachelor's degree program in radiation therapy or a radiography program, plus a 12-month certificate program in radiation therapy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Minimum two years of experience as a staff radiation therapist in a radiation center, preferably in a clinic setting.
  • Computer literacy.
