Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dietitian to join our team at NYC Health Hospitals. As a Dietitian - Level III, you will be responsible for providing nutritional care to patients on specialized units and conducting quality improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Coordinate Nutrition Care: Supervise the work of head dietitians and dietitians, plan work schedules and assignments, and screen and assess patients on specialized units.
  • Interpret and Analyze Data: Interpret pertinent laboratory, physical, and social data in medical records to provide accurate and timely nutritional care.
  • Counsel and Educate Patients: Instruct patients concerning diet, monitor patients' reaction to diet, counsel patients on food/drug interactions, and document in the patient's interdisciplinary care plan.
  • Develop and Implement Quality Improvement Projects: Participate in testing new recipes, reporting results, and evaluating quality improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Teams: Participate in nutritional training of field placement students, maintain liaison with community organizations, and prepare quality improvement reports.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification: Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in Dietetics or Foods and Nutrition, or registration or eligibility for registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian or New York State Certification as a Dietitian-Nutritionist.
  • Experience: Registration by the CDR as a Registered Dietitian or New York State Certification as a Dietitian-Nutritionist.
