Job Summary

Holt of California is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Driver to transport and deliver rental equipment to our customers. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for operating a diesel-powered one-ton truck, ensuring the safe and secure transportation of equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a vehicle in accordance with state law and company guidelines.
  • Receive daily schedules from dispatchers and complete delivery logs, delivery sheets, and safety inspections.
  • Load and unload equipment, using proper tie-down techniques to ensure secure transportation.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the truck, following B.I.T. guidelines.
  • Deliver equipment within established time frames and handle minor maintenance issues and fueling of trucks.
  • Verify that equipment is in good mechanical and safe operating condition upon delivery or return.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, damage, or safety issues to dispatchers or shop forepersons within 24 hours.
  • Accidents must be reported immediately to dispatchers.

Requirements

  • High school or GED and/or one to two years of equipment experience and/or training.
  • Valid driver's license class C or higher.

Work Environment

The work environment is dynamic, with frequent exposure to outside weather conditions and occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. The noise level is usually moderate, but can be loud at times.
