Driver - Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Summary:

Holt of California is seeking a skilled Driver - One Ton to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for safely transporting and delivering rental equipment to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a diesel-powered one-ton truck to transport and deliver rental equipment
  • Ensure proper securement of equipment during transport
  • Complete daily delivery logs, delivery sheets, and safety inspections
  • Load and unload equipment, using correct tie-down techniques
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the truck, adhering to B.I.T. guidelines
  • Deliver equipment within established time frames
  • Handle minor maintenance issues and fueling of trucks
  • Obtain customer signatures on rental agreements, highlighting any damage to equipment
  • Verify equipment is in good mechanical and safe operating condition upon pickup and return
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, damage, or safety issues to the dispatcher or shop foreperson within 24 hours
  • Accidents must be reported immediately to the dispatcher

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, and/or one to two years of equipment experience and/or training
  • Valid driver's license class C or higher

Work Environment:

The work environment is dynamic, with regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and airborne particles. You will work in various weather conditions and occasionally be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. The noise level is moderate to loud.
