Position Summary
The Client Support Associate is tasked with maintaining safety, profitability, and delivering outstanding customer service. This role is an hourly, non-exempt position that reports to the Store Manager regarding the upkeep and functionality of the retail establishment. If you thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented atmosphere, this position is ideal for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional and courteous customer service while efficiently addressing complaints.
- Employ suggestive selling techniques to enhance sales while fostering strong customer relationships.
- Accurately process transactions on the cash register, manage cash and other payment methods, and adhere to cash handling protocols to mitigate loss.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and other equipment as necessary.
- Perform cleaning duties to ensure the site remains tidy, including basic maintenance of all equipment.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels and conduct shift closeouts.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, potentially during irregular hours.
- Report any observed dishonesty by customers, vendors, or employees to management; follow established vendor check-in procedures and company policies for addressing theft.
- Complete all mandatory employee training and orientation sessions.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and/or walk for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to lift and/or carry up to 60 lbs. from ground to waist level as required.
- Ability to lift and/or carry up to 30 lbs. from ground to overhead for up to 30 minutes.
- Ability to push and pull with arms up to a force of 20 lbs.
- Ability to bend at the waist with some twisting for up to 1 hour.
- Ability to grasp, reach, and manipulate objects with hands; includes climbing a ladder for material retrieval or signage placement for up to 4 hours.
Working Environment:
- Approximately 95% of duties performed indoors.
- Exposure to intermittent cold temperatures when working in coolers or freezers.
- Occasional work in confined spaces; ability to work independently.
- Minimal direction and periodic supervision required.
Equipment and Tools:
- Utilization of electronic equipment such as POS systems, store telephones, and various transaction machines.
- Use of manual equipment including cleaning supplies and carts.
- Handling of various materials including liquids and cleaning agents.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior experience in retail sales and customer service preferred.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Basic arithmetic skills required.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively as needed.
