Postdoctoral Researcher in California Water Management

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scholar to join our research team at the University of California, Davis. The successful candidate will work on a project focused on developing future scenarios for equitable management and allocation of water in California. The project aims to understand how California's water system will respond to changes in operations, infrastructure, and regulations under an uncertain climate future.
Key Responsibilities
The Postdoctoral Scholar will be responsible for assisting in the project's public engagement and participatory scenario planning research. This will involve developing, administering, and analyzing results of surveys and interviews. The candidate will also perform public/community outreach and fieldwork across various locations, attend in-person and virtual workshops and meetings, and facilitate co-production processes and information flows between the research team, participants, and interested publics. Additionally, the Postdoctoral Scholar will develop research and outreach outputs, including publications, research briefs, data visualizations, and presentations.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a PhD or other doctoral degree in a relevant field, such as social science, planning, design, or environmental management. Strong skills and experience in designing and administering interviews and surveys, as well as coding and analysis of results, are essential. The candidate should also have the ability to conduct fieldwork, workshops, and research in various locations and in person. Excellent writing and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team, are required. A strong publication record demonstrating prior experience related to the research topics is also desirable.
