About the Role:

  • This is a critical position that requires expertise in environmental compliance tasks, regulatory interpretations, and field work.
  • The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or technical discipline and 10 - 25 years of experience in the environmental industry.
  • Responsibilities include performing complex environmental compliance tasks, acting as an Environmental Compliance Specialist, contributing to a positive work environment, and participating in a team atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing complex environmental compliance tasks, including regulatory interpretations, spill reporting, air permit tracking, RCRA waste management oversight, and supporting field work at the NNSS.
  • Acting as an Environmental Compliance Specialist for Industrial Sites and/or Underground Testing Area projects, conducting environmental compliance activities such as providing guidance to project management and onsite personnel, conducting regulatory required and best management oversight inspections, and ensuring documents are clear, concise, and conform to regulatory and technical requirements.
  • Contributing to a positive work environment and participating in a team atmosphere, training and mentoring project staff as needed, ensuring records are accurate and maintained, providing input to project staff on developing procedures and processes that will ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance, and assisting with task planning and preparation of work control packages.
  • Supporting Waste Management as needed and preparing and reviewing environmental plans and documents for assigned projects.
  • Conducting programmatic self-assessments and providing in-house training as required.

Estimated Salary Range: $90,000 - $140,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
