We are seeking a highly skilled Utility Technician I to join our team at American States Utility Services. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to water and wastewater system maintenance, including water quality and supply management.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on water and wastewater systems, including water mains, services, meters, and fire hydrants.
- Inspect and repair sewer lines, lateral cleanouts, manholes, and collection mains.
- Operate video equipment to inspect sewer lines and identify system deficiencies.
- Respond to service orders and customer inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of water and wastewater system operations, control settings, and plant/lift station operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and obtain a Commercial Driver's Permit within six months of hire date.
- Must be able to pass Federal OSHA, US Army Corps of Engineers, and/or State Mandated Safety training.
- Strong communication and customer service skills required.
