Maintenance Technician I

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician I to join our team at American States Utility Services. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our water and wastewater systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on water and wastewater equipment, including pumps, motors, and generators.
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks, such as inspecting and testing equipment, to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues with equipment and systems, and implement effective solutions to resolve problems.
- Work collaboratively with other maintenance technicians and supervisors to achieve team goals and objectives.
- Maintain accurate records and reports of maintenance activities, including work orders and inventory management.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Formal electrical schooling or training preferred.
- Ability to obtain State required Maintenance Technician Level I Certification within 12 months of hire.
- Ability to obtain an introductory level, State required water and/or wastewater certification within 12 months of hire.
- Ability to obtain minimum of "B" CDL with tanker endorsement within 24 months of hire.
- Ability to obtain crane certification within 24 months of hire.
- Ability to obtain State required Backflow Certification within 36 months of hire.
Working Conditions
This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to noise, chemicals, and extreme weather conditions. You will be required to lift and carry loads up to 50 lbs. and push or pull up to 75 lbs. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential for this role.

Compensation
