Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trauma Program Coordinator to join our team at Memorial Healthcare System. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the development of performance improvement processes, assisting with compliance with internal and external standards and regulations, and promoting continuous survey readiness for the Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with community trauma prevention programs, community offerings, and clinical education activities.
  • Consult with members of the care team to ensure effective and efficient patient care and desired patient outcomes.
  • Monitor national trends and data to identify opportunities for strategic follow-up and loop closure.
  • Coordinate, implement, and maintain quality improvement activities for trauma and acute care surgery services, including outcome and cost analysis, preparing benchmark data reports, hospital trauma registry (HTR) system reports, and American College of Surgeons (ACS) clinical documentation.
  • Serve as a resource for healthcare team members, patients, families, and community organizations regarding trauma and acute care surgery.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' acute care nursing experience with emphasis on trauma or related field.
  • Preferred experience in Critical Care Nursing or Trauma Nursing.
  • Advanced Trauma Course for Nurses (ATCN) certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. The position requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a team setting. The physical demands of the job include bending, stooping, and lifting patients weighing up to 35 pounds.

Shift and Work Schedule

The position is primarily for office workers and is not eligible for shift differential. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.
