As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining clinical exposure through intervention, coordination of patient care, role modeling, and consulting/problem-solving. You will utilize the nursing process to ensure compliance with quality standards established by regulatory agencies, hospital standards of care, performance enhancement programs, and risk management. You will build and sustain collegial relationships, generate commitment, resolve conflicts, and collaborate with others to achieve desired outcomes. Performance management techniques will be consistently applied, leading to positive results and a well-developed staff. You will provide a caring environment in support of St. Luke's Hospital's mission, vision, and values. You will facilitate unit/hospital performance enhancement projects through positive communication and rounding. You will apply critical thinking to all scenarios, requiring progressive communication with the Administrator on call. You will make collaborative decisions with the nursing supervisors and the AOC, impacting the hospital's overall operations status. You will actively participate in monitoring and controlling expenses outlined in the operational budget for patient care areas. You will consistently display compassion, helpfulness, and consideration to patients, significant others, and guests. You will manage incident reports and patient concerns. You will coach and counsel staff, completing counseling documentation as indicated in collaboration with the unit manager. You will demonstrate self-leadership through self-assessment, requests for feedback, and action plans that include continuous learning both formally and experientially.

Responsibilities
  • Manage overtime and unit staffing for all nursing staff based on budget, patient acuity, and census after 3 pm and on weekends. Communicate staffing decisions to Nurse Managers of concerned areas.
  • Analyze and manage the Bed Huddle process.
  • Respond to and intervene in all emergency situations, including House-wide Codes, STEMI, and Hypothermia Emergency room Patients.
  • Coordinate all staff nurse sick calls and communicate information to the manager of concern and the SSP manager.
  • Notify Endoscopy and Operating room on-call staff after 2300 M-F and Sat and Sun.
  • Act promptly and decisively to address problems that arise throughout the house.
  • Serve as an administrative/management representative at all times.
Qualifications

Required Education & Experience:

*Bachelor's Degree

 *Five (5) years of relevant experience

 * Registered Nurse (RN) required

Required Licensure & Certification:

*RN: TX

*BLS-CPR (14 day grace period) through AHA
