Boeing is seeking an Avionics Mechanic (Associate) to contribute to our operations. This role is essential in supporting the Boeing Defense (BDS) business sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize various manual hand tools, including crimpers, strippers, wire cutters, and specialized aircraft testing equipment. Access aircraft data through computer systems to initiate parts and discrepancy requests.
- Interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Assemble, modify, and install wire bundles, conductors, and other electrical components, including radio frequency cabling and antenna systems.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with colleagues and supervisors as required.
- Document maintenance and repair actions, equipment status tags, logs, and parts requests clearly.
- Perform assigned tasks while adhering to safety equipment requirements.
- Carry out duties across all shifts, unaffected by weather or physical conditions.
- Order necessary parts, tools, materials, and equipment to fulfill assigned responsibilities.
- Provide technical and operational insights to support program assessments and maintenance recommendations.
- Comply with health and safety regulations, tool control, and other pertinent guidelines.
- Execute additional tasks as directed by management for the benefit of the organization.
- Make informed decisions regarding complex operations.
- Ensure the proper execution of assignments and the careful handling of products, tools, and equipment.
- Collaborate with management and peers to identify optimal work processes.
- Mentor and assist less experienced employees.
- Potentially lead teams in complex aircraft-related tasks and maintain accurate aircraft logs and records.
- Prioritize workload effectively to meet project schedules.
- Perform all duties of lower Avionics classifications as necessary to achieve objectives.
Work Environment: This position is expected to be 100% onsite.
Security Clearance: Candidates must be able to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, requiring U.S. Citizenship.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience with various aircraft systems, including hydraulic, flight control, landing gear, fuel systems, and engines.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience working with schematics, specifications, and standard operating procedures.
- Willingness to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with F/A-18 or EA-18G aircraft.
- Proficient in operating aircraft tug/tow vehicles, forklifts, and mobile cranes.
Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED with typically 5+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Relocation: Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
Shift: This position is available for 1st and 2nd shifts.
