Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Customer Service Representative to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. As a key member of our import team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support to our key accounts, ensuring seamless operations and timely delivery of goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Processing International Air and Sea Shipments: Process international air and sea shipments via Cargowise, including opening files, issuing documents, tracking and tracing, and billing.
  • Documentation Management: Ensure that documentation (Pre-Alert, PL, CI, A/N, etc.) is accurately processed and released to carriers, brokers, governmental agencies, agents, and customers in a timely manner.
  • Destination Delivery Management: Manage destination delivery from release of goods at terminal/CFS to clients' door.
  • Customer Service: Participate in cross-training necessary to achieve and maintain excellent customer service.
  • Follow Key Account SOPs: Follow key account SOPs and procedures as directed by sales and key account management.
  • Additional Duties: Perform any other duties as directed by management.
Requirements
  • 2-5 Years of Experience: 2-5 years of strong working knowledge of international transportation and logistics (ocean/air/drayage), preferably for a freight forwarder.
  • Supply Chain Concepts: Basic proficiency in supply chain concepts and processes (i.e., incoterms, international supply chain, and/or procurement).
  • Organizational Skills: A well-organized self-starter who is highly detail-oriented.
  • Communication Skills: Must be capable of communicating and interacting effectively with individuals from various functional areas and diverse backgrounds.
  • Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in MS Office suite of products and operational knowledge of Cargowise.
