Inventory Control Specialist

Job Summary:

The Inventory Control Clerk will be responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy in the Mill, Assembly and Distribution. This role requires the ability to solve both short-term and long-term issues, including correcting on-hand quantity discrepancies and identifying root causes of inventory discrepancies. The successful candidate will perform cycle counts and physical inventories daily, according to our preplanned Quarterly Inventory Schedule. This position will interact with material handlers, supervisors, lead persons and others in all departments, and will report directly to the Inventory Control Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular cycle counts to verify stock accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Perform weekly rack audits.
  • Assist with reconciling on-hand inventories with system data.
  • Utilize various reports in JDE and Excel to analyze inventory data.
  • Collaborate with the inventory team to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancy issues.
  • Work with Quality Control to ensure timely scrap transactions for non-performing raw material and finished goods.
  • Navigate the warehouse to conduct inventory checks.
  • Work with supervisors to implement value stream inventory practices.
  • Cross-train in Back-flushing and Palletization.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to the 5 Ss.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, demonstrating respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in all interactions.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in inventory control in a mid-sized manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience with JDE or MRP systems is a plus.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills are required.
  • Forklift certification is a plus, and may be required for certain materials handling equipment.
  • College background is a plus.
