Job Summary:

As a valued member of the Forrest General Hospital team, the Nurse Aide plays a critical role in supporting the technologists and nurses in patient care activities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting technologists and nurses in preparing procedure rooms for patients
  • Providing support in the exam room as required
  • Retrieving patient clinical history and assisting with associated paperwork
  • Ensuring the correct patient is being imaged in accordance with hospital protocol
  • Retrieving prior films/images as needed
  • Assisting patients in dressing for procedures
  • Transporting patients as required

Performance Expectations:

  • Ability to assist Nuclear Medicine Technologist with patients prior to, during, and post nuclear scanning procedure
  • Ability to transport patients as required
  • Ability to prep patients for Nuclear Medicine and Cardiac personnel prior to stress tests
  • Ability to utilize two patient identifiers when acquiring patients for procedures
  • Assistance in other aide-type positions within the main department when required

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Previous hospital experience is desired
